Job 36:27-28

Profound verse. Makes me think just how powerful our God is. Praise the LORD for his love and grace!

Josh & Mary

I did a photo shoot for Josh & Mary yesterday afternoon. They are friends of mine who recently started dating. It was my pleasure to take some shots of them together. These are a few of my favorites.

Rain, Rain, Go Away! Come Again Another Warmer Day!

We're getting quite a bit of rain here tonight! I didn't know it was coming and wasn't prepared, so I had to walk back to my dorm from the student center as the rain drops fell mercilessly on my coat and purse. That was after I'd gone outside and decided not to go back to my dorm, and gone back into the student center, bored stiff. Finally, I just had to go out in it. :l

The rain actually falls sideways in Cedarville. It never falls down straight. My boots got soaking wet and my hair kind of curled from the water. I was pretty annoyed. It's still raining now, but it sounds lighter. The only good thing about the rain was the memories it brought back of PNG downpours, which are way cooler, by the way. I thought about the time some classmates and I tried to get a decent night shot of our ferris wheel lit up for last year's yearbook, and how it was raining when we were out there shooting. I remembered walking home from school in the rain countless times, and getting soaked. One of my favorite rainy nights was on my senior retreat at Jais Aben Resort. Several classmates and I were out on a wooden dock on the Pacific, and then we decided to move to the pool. I'll never forget the hilarious games we played and the closeness we shared in those moments. The times when I had to get guinea pig food and it was raining weren't always fun, but it provided me with some thinking time, which I valued. Always, without fail, my feet would get covered in mud and I'd walk home slowly, turn on the hose, and wash those shoes til they squeaked when I walked in them. Then I'd climb the few short stairs leading to the back door and go inside, feeling sort of cold and icky, but it was worth it. Sigh. I miss real rain.

This. Is. Sweet.

My friends love to play guitar! I want them to teach me someday soon!! Anyways, this is from Saturday night when we were just hanging out. Caleb and I were enthralled by Mia's Japanese stationery and we decided to draw in her daily planner. Then Mia asked to play Caleb's guitar, and next thing you know, I had my camera out. Lol. =D

Kentucky...the Creation Museum!

Have you heard the creation story? Do you know why we're here? The Creation Museum in Kentucky attempts to answer the basic questions of life and declares God as the Creator and Designer. Last Saturday I was privileged to go there with a few friends. I had a great time!! If you've never been there, you should go! It's so worth it!

Summer Skies

I admit it - I can't wait for summer! It was really warm and sunny today, and I absolutely loved it! I took two walks in my flip-flops. For February, the weather is simply amazing! Still, I'm very much looking forward to hot summer days. I took this photo in August, and it brings back good memories from when I first arrived at Cedarville. =)

Night @ the Alley

Bowling is so much fun! Or at least I think so. If you haven't ever bowled, I suggest that you go and try it! This past Friday night I went to a bowling alley with my friends James, Mia, Caleb, and Caleb's mom, who was here for Mom's Weekend 2011. It was my second time to bowl (the first time was at Christmas break), so I am still learning the ropes. Mia, James, and I didn't do very well in the first game, but we got high fives from everyone after every turn no matter what we scored. Caleb's mom won the first game by one point, Caleb was next, then me, then Mia, and then James. They were surprised that I scored 93 points since it was only my second time to bowl in my life.

The second game was just me, Caleb, James, and Mia. Caleb's mom watched us play. My score was a lot lower...54...ahem...but James did much better, and almost won. Caleb barely beat him, if I remember correctly.

After bowling, we sat down for a bit and chatted. Well, I should say, they chatted. I got bored and started taking pictures. I found a pack of cigarettes and a lighter sitting on one of the tables. It made me sad, because the truth about smoking is that it ruins your lungs and slowly kills you. I wish people didn't smoke and didn't pressure other people to smoke with them. :(

At around 10:45, the overhead lights were turned off and special black lights came off for the late night bowling special. It was pretty cool, but we decided to leave before people started drinking and smoking. Sigh. I wish that kind of stuff didn't happen.

We stepped out into the fresh, cold night air and then into our sweet purplish car. Driving home, we were exhausted but somehow found the strength to chat a bit. We kind of got lost and drove around the same area several times. Somewhere, in the middle of that all, we got stopped by the police. They were checking everyone to try and find those driving while under the influence. We weren't so we had nothing to fear. Eventually, Caleb's mom figured out where we were and got us back to campus. The whole adventure made for great bonding time and I loved all of it!!

Awww

These three are tight. The one in the middle, Byamba, used to go to the same college as all of us, but he had to transfer this semester. :( We miss him a lot. Thankfully, we got to see him at an MK Retreat in January, where I snapped this picture!

Love my friends!

I don't have a boyfriend, and while I kind of wish I did, I know that God's got my future in His hands, and He'll make it happen when the time is right. Some people choose to look at Valentine's Day as Singles Awareness Day, but I'm not one of them. I prefer to show love to everyone I can and expound God's love as far as I can. In fact, I try to love with God's love everyday, although I don't always succeed.

Despite being boyfriend-less, I have amazing friends! My RA Sandi sent me a rose and a note to my mailbox, my friend Mia gave me a sweet note, and a couple of other friends gave me candy and cookies. I'm so thankful for every friendship that God has blessed me with! =)

Sweet Day =)

Album Cover?

Do you think this could be as an album cover for a music CD? I was playing around at Picnik.com and came up this beautiful edit. =)

Chilling & Watching the Super Bowl

They look so enthusiastic, don't they? This was at the Super Bowl party on Saturday night, hosted by the Mu Kappa leaders. There was quite a turnout, but I think the real reason everyone was there was for the food and fellowship. And there was a lot of food! I didn't watch the whole game...I'm just not a football fan at all...but rugby, now that's a sport I love playing and watching!

Late Night Relaxin'?

I'm up late doing homework almost every night...it's a wonder that I've never fallen asleep in class before. Sometimes I get bored so I go out in the hall and take photos. I did that a few days ago, and took this shot in color, then converted it to B&W. =]

Go Lady Jackets!!!

A couple from my church visited me on Saturday. First we had dinner and then strolled over to the sports center to watch the basketball games. I only went to the ladies' basketball game, and not the mens' because I had other plans after that that included watching three of Louie Giglio's talks with three good friends. (By the way, if you haven't heard of him, you should look him up. I believe that all of the videos are on Youtube. :) )

Anyways, the game was a close one, and the Jackets won by two points. It was great!

I'm entering this photo in The Paper Camera's Show and Tell Challenge. =)

Oreos with PB and Rainbow Plates ♥

I love Oreos and topping them with Peanut Butter makes them taste even better. I love my rainbow colored plate, too, which I used for lunch today in my dorm room instead of going to the cafeteria. My lunch consisted of PB+J followed by several Oreos with PB. Simple, yet delectable. Do you like Oreos with PB?

Beautifully Iced

Freezin' Pine Branches and Ice Days

On Tuesday we had an ice storm and the sidewalks were so slippery. We still had classes, though, unless individual professors decided to cancel. Then that night the storm intensified with more ice and snow pouring out of the sky. The conditions were so bad that the university decided to shut down for Wednesday. Since there were no classes, I chatted with friends, watched part of the movie "Hidalgo" and sang praise songs while my friends played acoustic guitar. I have to say that I love doing that! It's something that I hadn't done much until recently and it was love from the very beginning. Worshiping God together is wonderful. :)
