Beyond the Leaves

Friday Night Laundry

After working a banquet on Friday night, I returned to my dorm room and did a load of laundry. I had nothing better to do. Sad, huh? It was girls' open dorms, and there were a TON of guys walking through the halls. I sat and listened to music and occasionally popped my head out the door. At least I was able to get to bed at 11 pm, which was excellent because I had work at 7:45 am the next morning. The laundry room is really a boring room, but it's warm, so sometimes I just stand in there and enjoy the heat.

Skype camera!

My friend gave me a camera for Skype! I haven't really used it yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so really soon. The camera isn't very good quality, but if it will let me "see" friends and family on the other side of the world, then I'm going to put it to good use. Unfortunately, right after I was given the camera, my parents started having to pay for Skype, but it's still cheaper than calling. We won't be able to video chat much, but maybe every once in a while we'll spend a couple extra bucks to be able to see each others' faces. :)

Entertained by the Mirror

I was at a loss for what to shoot for my 365 day project, so I just decided to stand in front of the mirror and shoot some of myself. I'm quite pleased with how the second shot came out. I edited it a bit and turned it a pale blue.

I'm entering the second shot in and then, she {snapped}'s show {off} your shot contest. :)

and then, she {snapped}

Words of Love

The words of the Bible are filled with God's loving kindness to mankind despite our sinfulness. God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for our sins, the ultimate sacrifice. He loves us, and desires for us to turn from our sins and accept his free gift of salvation.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
~John 3:16

Comfy Cabins @ Snow Camp

We B Jammin'

Friday night on the retreat we just hung out and had a blast! My friends were jammin' on a guitar. I want to learn to play!

Besties

Byamba used to go to our college, but he had to leave this semester. The four of us were reunited at MK Snow Camp. I took this shot of the three of them (we should have gotten one of all of us). Next time! They're wonderful friends of mine. :)

Snow Camp!

Last weekend I had the privilege of attending MK Snow Camp with a multitude of MKs from all over the Midwest! (There were a few adopted MKs too. :) ) The whole event was amazing! This is the whole group. :)

Olivia's beautiful

I took this photo of Olivia back in early October 2010, and I have to say it's one of my favorite person photos of the year. :)

Slippers in the Snow

Yep, that's right - I went outside in my slippers! I wasn't wearing a coat, and it felt warm gracefully walking through the lightly falling snow. I went out to take a few photos, and ended up enjoying the fresh air more than I expected to. :)

Lovely Lamp Post

And then there's me...

Natalie the Pro

Bowling Alley Adventure!

I went bowling for the first time this Christmas break! My friend Natalie took me and her sister to the alley and we played several games. I found out that this is so much harder than Wii bowling but it's also fun. The highlight (or should I say lowlight?) of the experience was dropping a bowling ball on my foot after my friend took a photo of me holding it. Fortunately, it only caused a slight bruise and my foot didn't change color or anything.

Beaten Up Toy

I found this just sitting on the road one day when I went out to take some photos, before the snow came...I wonder what toy it is. Does anyone know?

Failed Peanut Brittle

Ash and I tried making Peanut Brittle to give to a hurting friend, but the recipe we found on the web was bad, and ours ended up tasting like sugar with peanuts in it. Ash's mom just threw it away... :l

Focused

My friend Ash and I decided to dress up in fancy dresses and fix up our hair one day over Christmas break while I was staying at her house. Then we took photos of each other. Ash told me to look up and got this shot of me, which I converted from black to white and did some other editing to. I added the words "So I look to You" from the song "Look to You" by Hillsong. I want God to be the focus of my life every day now and forevermore.
