Do what God Calls You to do.
I posted the following on my Facebook page tonight:
"For anyone who's ever been told that they can't do something, don't let that stop you from doing it. There have been times in the past when I was told that I didn't have an eye for photography and that I would never be good at it, but I haven't let that stop me. In fact, it's pushed me to try harder to improve and be the best photographer I can be. Use the unfair expectations others put on you to ignite your passion for the things you love! Just go out and use your talents and abilities to do what God has called you to do."
Have you experienced a similar situation where you were told that you weren't good enough? How did you respond?

I know exactly what you mean. A woman (who was my homeschool group's photography teacher when I was in 8th grade) messaged me about a year ago after I'd openly asked for constructive criticism and basically told me my pictures were awful. It hurt, a lot. But it taught me that I have to push forward and continually find ways to improve and make my photography different. Also.. I've always told myself I'm an awful runner. Now that I'm trying & have a plan, I'm finding it's not quite so bad. :)
That's a great encouragement Jess. I think it's important to accept constructive criticism to improve. It's a great way to learn and evolve.
I'm so glad you used other people's criticism to inspire you, and that you didn't just stop trying! I think your photographs are great. :)
